Connor Beebe (49) and Dale Tarket (68) join in with other members of the Boyne City Ramblers varsity football team for a pre-game prayer before taking to the field against the 0-5 East Jordan Red Devils. Boyne City would go on to win the game 43-0.
Head Coach David Hills prowls the sidelines during the Ramblers game against East Jordan. Hills receives updates from the assistant coaches through his headset and spends most of the game marching back and forth on the sidelines talking softly into the headset and never raising his voice until a major moment.
During half time against the Charlevoix Raiders, Rambler Coach David Hills goes over what needs to be done to help them win this game. The Ramblers lead at half time 12-6 and would go on to win 25-6 improving to 7-0. During half time Hills reminded his team, “I told you they wouldn’t give you this one, so what we need to do is keep grinding away and tire them out, and then we’ll take this one.”
Ramblers Coach David Hills looks on in dismay as a ref during the East Jordan/Boyne City game makes a call he doesn’t like and thinks is unnecessary. Coach Hills rarely shows emotion on the sideline until a referee makes a call against the Ramblers he doesn’t agree with. He tends to walk up and remind them quietly that they’ve been missing certain calls and would like an explanation for the calls against his team.
At the end of practice before their game against the Charlevoix Raiders at Homecoming Coach Hills gives a pep speech before the game reminding the team what they’re doing right and what they need to keep doing to win this game. He cracks some jokes in between seriousness before excusing the players for the day and leaves them with their hopes of being 7-0 after tomorrow night’s game.
At the end of practice before their game against East Jordan the players run off the field to head back to the locker room and prepare for their away game the next day. Like always the players are followed off the field by their coaches, Coach David Hills (left), Assistant Coach Todd Shumaker (middle) and Assistant Coach Dave Bricker (Right).
